disappearing act

whew! In the last two weeks I really got the smack down. I began by taking over for a sick co-worker (my mom) by working extra hours and taking on extra responsibility. Then, went on a preplanned trip to Oakland see old pals from college (neither could it be helped, nor did I want it to be rescheduled ;) ). Then at work - continued preparations for and went on a business trip. All while finalizing the graphics for and sending my invitations to the printer. A package with my invitations arrived in my office on Friday (but being in Roslyn, Wa, where the tv show Northern Exposure was filmed) I didn't see them sitting on my desk until Monday. And they look so lovely!!! And thanks ever so to Steve from Seattle's a&a printing for the gift of paper and printing of my wedding invitations and rsvp cards. Now the boy and I are rush addressing and stuffing envelopes, so that we can send them out no later than Friday (which is just 37 days until the big day). Ack! I'll post pictu...

please weigh in...

two questions: 1.) Do you think sending out the invitations 5 weeks before the wedding is enough time, being that I sent out save-the-dates ages ago? with an RSVP cut off two weeks from the mail date? and 2.) Do you think that this style of RSVP postcard, with the check boxes on the "picture" side and the address on the other is sufficient? I never did get around to designing a postcard image after spending about 24 actual working hours, designing the invite with a map. I have about 24 hours to decide... help! p.s. sorry for the lax posting again, I have been hit with a crazy storm of work at work (the place I get paid), which is also why I'm so behind on my invitations... thanks for reading, and all of your support. {images and lovely invites love jenna via 100 layer cake }

lovely invitations like this, it makes me want to scrap what I have and begin again, or give up and have someone else do them. { 13 creative via .c is for charmed }

when

I spent the majority of this last beautiful weekend indoors designing our wedding invitations. I figured that even though I can't walk or stand for long periods of time (having thrown out my back on my birthday) since now I can  sit in a chair rather than lay flat on my back, I would be at least a little productive. while I'm excited to be getting much better at wielding adobe illustrator, I kind of wish I had seen this telegram wedding invite two days ago.  Not to mention the rest of this stunning 20's inspired wedding would have been nice to see about two-three months ago, before it happened. Because, pretty much any of these dresses could have been the dress for me.  but especially that grey-blue one in the right pic. can you say dress remorse (again)? although I have no idea where I would have acquired such a beautiful dress. 100 layer cake & once wed

lovely packaging

I've been toying in my head with the overall design of my invitations. the save-the-date hasn't even gone out yet, but I over think everything. I like both this medium ribbon wrap and the string. it looks simple and elegant. { here via here }

story by mia is amazing. I can't think of what I need calling cards for, but the matchbook style is so fantastic. I like her wedding invites too. and the little birds. and the trees. Her designs are just simple yet stunning.

on to the next thing

Now that the save-the-date is done, on to collecting the big plan for the invitations. So how shall I incorporate this from Mint design blog? hmm.

old news

because I hadn't posted this save-the-date before, but I really love the way it looks. Although the date itself isn't the easiest to understand, I'm sure they repeated some of the info on the back of the postcard - why not?

envelopes

Yes!!! From Erin Jang's illustrations.

hello lovely

I love this invite - it's so simple and elegant. I already thought about address labels, now I know I want some kind of sticker/label, lovely little bit. from Precious Bugarin Design in Portland. Did I mention how expensive they are? Ha! Oh, and check out the blog .

printable press

This is precisely what all of us budget brides need. Although I still want to design my own, I am so happy someone has decided to do create invitation graphics that we can just print, cut and send. Thank you Printable Press , and to 10,000k wedding for finding her work.

because

inspiration comes from everywhere. save the date?

deck of...

I've always wanted to make a deck of cards. I just have to design an invitation that reflects this simplicity. These from Martha's blog by Athena Preston. She did beautiful wedding invites for her friends as well.

art deco dahlia design
