Oh, I know the feeling! I've seen some invitation suites that made me want to cancel the whole wedding and plan a new one, just so we could have the lovely new invitations.
I have one word for that invite. Ok four: crazy over the top.
Please know that people who recive invites like that, pull them out later to show them to friends and their friends whisper, "crazy!" and they whisper, "I knnnnoooowwww."
So yeah, you're on the right track with yours... trust me.
This is such an extravagant invitation! I can't imagine what I'd do if I opened up my mailbox (would it fit in a mailbox?) and saw that! Personally, I just think the tone of the invitation should match the tone of the wedding. I just went to a wedding that was very elegant, but the invitations had sparkles and were written in Comic Sans font. It makes it a little difficult to figure out what to wear, especially when a dress code wasn't specified nor implied anywhere in the invitation.
